Analytics

Clicks, app opens, installs and conversions across every link, plus funnels, campaigns, live events and CSV exports.

The Analytics page answers one question first: is everything okay? It shows four headline numbers, one chart, and the breakdowns you need to dig in. Open it from the navigation rail on the left or press G then A.

Everything on the page belongs to the project and mode (test or live) you have selected. Switch between Test and Live in the header to see the other environment's numbers. See Environments.

The headline numbers, the activity chart, top links, the platform, country and referrer breakdowns and live events are on every plan. The other reports on this page need Growth or Scale; on a plan without them, a card says what they show and which plan has them. See Features by plan.

Pick a date range

Use the range picker in the top right of the page:

OptionURL valuePlan
Last 7 days?range=7dEvery plan
Last 30 days (default)?range=30dEvery plan
Last 90 days?range=90dGrowth and Scale
Last 12 months?range=12mScale

The range lives in the URL, so you can bookmark a view or paste it to a teammate and they see the same thing. Days are UTC days, and every range includes today. Ranges your plan does not have are listed with the plan's name and cannot be picked; a link with a longer range opens at the longest one your plan has.

Headline numbers

Four cards sit at the top. Each one compares the selected range with the previous period of the same length (for example, the last 30 days against the 30 days before that) and shows a small trend line.

CardWhat it counts
ClicksTaps on your short links. Bots excluded.
App opensTimes the app opened from a link, reported by the SDK.
InstallsFirst launches after an install (or reinstall) that followed a link.
Click to openOpens per click: (app opens + installs) divided by clicks.

The change under each number is a percentage. Click to open is already a rate, so its change is shown in percentage points (pts). When the previous period had nothing to compare against, the card says New.

Bots never count

Crawlers, link preview fetchers, scripts and headless browsers are still redirected, but they are flagged as bots and left out of every number on this page.

Activity chart

Clicks, opens and installs per day plots the three series for every day in the range. The header shows the total number of conversions (custom events from Lander.trackEvent) for the same period. The colors stay the same across the dashboard: clicks, then app opens, then installs.

Funnel and conversion events

Growth and Scale

These two cards need the Growth plan or higher.

Link funnel follows link driven traffic in four steps: Clicks, then the App opens, Installs and Conversions the SDK attributed to a link. Each step shows its count and its share of clicks. Organic opens and installs (no link) are left out, so this is the place to judge your links rather than your app as a whole.

Conversion events lists the events your app tracks with Lander.trackEvent, by name, with a Count and the share that came After a link.

Campaigns and attribution

Growth and Scale

These two cards need the Growth plan or higher.

Campaigns lists your top six campaigns by clicks, with Clicks, Installs and To open (opens and installs per click). Links without a campaign are grouped as (no campaign). Select Full report to open the Campaigns page.

Attribution confidence shows how sure Lander is about which link drove each open and install:

SegmentMeaning
DeterministicMatched by a link click Lander can prove.
ProbabilisticMatched within a short window. This is opt in.
UnattributedNo link recovered.

Under the bar, By method splits the same total by how each match was made: Universal Link, App Link, Play Install Referrer, the Continue in app page, a signed in handoff, a probabilistic match, or no link. Read more in Attribution.

Top links lists the ten links with the most clicks in the range, with Clicks, Opens and Installs. Select a link to open its detail page, or View all to go to the links table.

Below that, three lists break clicks down by dimension. Each shows the top eight values with a count and a share of the total:

  • Platform: iOS, Android or Desktop.
  • Country: where the click came from.
  • Referrer: the referring host. Clicks without a referrer show as (direct).

Hourly activity and versions

Scale

These cards need the Scale plan.

Last 48 hours, by hour plots clicks, opens and installs hour by hour (UTC), whatever range is selected. Use it to watch a launch, a push notification or an email go out.

App version and OS version count the app installs seen in the range by the version of your app and of iOS or Android they run, per platform. Use them to see when a release has rolled out, or which OS versions your deep links need to support.

When there is no data yet

If the range has no clicks, opens or installs in the current mode, the page says so (for example "No test activity in the last 30 days") and offers Create a link. Numbers appear as soon as people tap your links and the SDK reports opens.

Campaigns page

The Campaigns page (in the navigation, right after Analytics) gives the full split by campaign and channel. It needs the Growth plan or higher; on Starter it says so, and your links keep their campaign and channel for when you move up. You set both on each link with the Campaign and Channel fields in the link editor, for example summer_sale and instagram.

It uses the same date range picker and shows:

  • Clicks by campaign: a chart of the top 12 campaigns. If you have more, the table below has all of them.
  • A table with one row per campaign and channel: Campaign, Channel, Links, Clicks, Opens, Installs, Conversions and Click to install, plus a Total row. Empty values show as (none).

Opens, installs and conversions count when the SDK attributes them to a link.

Live events

The Live events page (G then E) shows clicks and app events as they arrive, newest first. It refreshes every 5 seconds.

  • Filter with All, Clicks, Opens, Installs or Conversions.
  • Use Pause to freeze the list while you read it, then Resume.
  • Each row shows when it happened, the event kind, the link slug (or "no link") and details such as platform, country and referrer for clicks, or the event name and properties for conversions.
  • Bot clicks still appear here, greyed out and marked (filtered), so you can see them without them skewing your numbers.

This is the fastest way to check a new integration: tap one of your links or open your app with the SDK installed, and the event shows up within seconds.

Export to CSV

Growth and Scale

CSV export, here and on the Links page, needs the Growth plan or higher. On Starter the button shows a lock and opens Billing, and the export URLs answer 402.

Select Export CSV on the Analytics page to download the daily report for the selected range. On the Campaigns page the same button downloads the campaigns report.

The export URL takes a report parameter, so you can also fetch the other reports directly while signed in:

ReportURLColumns
Daily (default)/<org>/<project>/analytics/export?report=daily&range=30ddate, clicks, opens, installs, conversions
Per link/<org>/<project>/analytics/export?report=links&range=30dshort_url, title, clicks, opens, installs
Per campaign/<org>/<project>/analytics/export?report=campaigns&range=30dcampaign, channel, links, clicks, opens, installs, conversions

Files are named lander-<project>-<mode>-<report>-<from>-to-<to>.csv and cover the mode you are in.

How fresh the numbers are

  • A click reaches Lander's database about two seconds after the redirect. The redirect itself never waits for it.
  • Analytics combine daily rollups (rebuilt every hour) with raw events for days that are not rolled up yet, so today's numbers are close to real time.
  • SDK events sent late (for example from the SDK's offline queue) are counted on the day they happened. A day that already rolled up picks them up within an hour.

How long data is kept

Raw click and event rows are kept for 90 days. Daily rollups are kept for good, so the charts and totals keep working for every range, and moving up a plan unlocks the history you already have. Live events reads the raw rows of the last 60 days, so it only ever shows recent activity.
